Sean Murphy
Sean Murphy launched VOTEGTR in 2013 as a means of helping political candidates engage voters online. Since then, VOTEGTR has provided effective digital solutions and voter engagement strategies to candidates in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Illinois.
Trained in digital marketing and data analytics, Sean Murphy is a veteran of several high profile political campaigns and has business experience working inside some of the largest and most successful companies in the world. Sean Murphy is a graduate of The George Washington University MBA program.
Originally a Chicagoland native and graduate of DePaul University, Sean Murphy began his career working on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman Judy Biggert of the 13th district in Illinois and, soon thereafter, U.S. Senator Christopher S. Bond of Missouri.
In 2004, Sean was recruited by the White House to lead the President’s reelection efforts in Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri. There, Sean organized and commanded a multi-tiered and self-sustaining grassroots effort that eventually helped re-elect President George W. Bush.
After the campaign, Sean was twice appointed by the White House to serve in the United States Departments of Justice (2005) and Homeland Security (2007) where he focused on policy, communications and congressional relations.
Upon leaving the Administration in 2009, Sean moved back home to Chicago to work on several statewide political campaigns before ultimately returning to Washington, D.C. to concentrate on building VOTEGTR into an emerging leader in the political technology space.
Currently, Sean lives with his wife Lindsay and their four children in Northern Virginia.
